Call to action! Free Trade Doesn't Work: What Should Replace it and Why belongs in Barnes & Noble bookstores!
Our Buy American Mention of the Week!
by Roger Simmermaker
September 25, 2010

In my last "Buy American Mention of the Week" on 9-17-10, I wrote about a great new book titled Free Trade Doesn't Work: What Should Replace it and Why by Ian Fletcher, which is available in my USA Shop for $19.95.

Many of you took the opportunity to get this great book for yourselves, but I think I can safely say that most people on the "Buy American Mention of the Week" email list, even if you didn't order your own book, agree that free trade is killing our country.

I also think I'm relatively safe in saying that most subscribers on the list believe that books like Free Trade Doesn't Work: What Should Replace it and Why by Ian Fletcher deserve to be distributed far and wide in as many bookstores as possible - including Barnes & Noble!

Here's the problem. For some reason, Barnes & Noble, the largest bookseller in the country, is declining to carry Ian Fletcher's new book Free Trade Doesn't Work: What Should Replace it and Why in their retail stores.

If skeptics of free trade are to get the truth out to the public, this book needs wide distribution. Therefore, I am asking you a small favor: to write to the Barnes & Noble executive Marcella Smith (MSmithx@bn.com) and tell her how important it is that ordinary Americans get a chance to learn the truth about free trade.

Here's a sample email:

Dear Marcella,

I am writing to urge you to make Ian Fletcher's new book Free Trade Doesn't Work: What Should Replace It and Why available in your retail stores.

I would imagine that especially with an uncertain economy, the large number of Americans who have lost their jobs due to free trade, and an even larger group of Americans who are skeptical about free trade, this book would sell well in your stores and therefore deserves wide distribution.

Sincerely,

YOUR NAME HERE

A big wave of e-mails will help show Barnes & Noble how much demand there is for the book, even if you haven't purchased one and don't intend on purchasing one anytime soon. Regardless if you end up buying the book or not (you can buy it here now for just $19.95 with FREE shipping) your voice will certainly make a difference!
