American-made professional apparel from New York City, USA
Our Buy American Mention of the Week!
by Roger Simmermaker
November 20, 2010

These days, there's little denying that health care is one of the biggest industries in America. But with that indisputable fact comes an opportunity to create many more American jobs in ways most people have probably never really given much thought.

At www.ScrubInk.com, founders Rodger Cohen and Dalia Sabari (a father-and-daughter duo) have created great new variations to the classic health care uniform, and all of the products they have created for the consideration of the health care industry are made in New York City, USA.

The idea for came as Rodger and Dalia once watched a sea of nurses walk past their window, and it was obvious how each nurse looked almost identical. Rodger, having 30 years of experience in the garment industry, and Dalia, an award winning graphic designer, knew there had to be a way to combine fashion and personality to the classic uniform without compromising professional appearance.

At www.ScrubInk.com, they offer men's scrubs, women's scrubs, original tops, signature tops, custom photo tops, scrub pants, women's layering tees, as well as affordable and adorable professional tops and pants called Recessionista by Scrub/Ink.

Especially with their signature tops and custom photo tops, Scrub Ink is making it possible to create a closer relationship between caretaker and patient, because they work to strip away the monotony of today's standard uniform. Today's Scrub Ink customer can choose to allow their nurses to individualize and customize their scrubs, which gives the nurses more of a sense of self and individuality that still allows a professional - yet personal - approach.

I think it's safe to say that every American has, or has had at some point, a connection to the health care industry. Most of us either know or know of a health-care professional, whether it's a doctor, nurse, nurses aide, medical technician, or receptionist, etc. And of course almost everyone has been a patient in a health care facility somewhere or sometime.

Therein lies the potential to offer those we know an option of individuality and professionalism in their workplace that can actually provide a boost in their business. For example, here's what Eastside Medical Group said about Scrub/Ink: "Thanks to Scrub Ink's custom corporate printed scrubs, my staff has been transformed into a marketing team. We've been booming with business ever since!" You can see many other positive testimonials on the Scrub/Ink website.

Even though the items offered at www.ScrubInk.com aren't typical consumer items, it does present a unique way for Americans to influence patriotic purchases that benefit our country. For example, one avid supporter of How Americans Can Buy American, a man who works for a major American corporation, influenced the decision of his company to use an American-owned vendor for the purchase of about $750,000.00 worth of hand-held computers over a foreign-owned computer vendor. A similar scenario can be easily duplicated on a large scale with Scrub/Ink.

At www.ScrubInk.com, founders Rodger and Dalia take great pride in manufacturing every one of their quality garments solely in New York City. How many companies can say that these days?

In my opinion, with the health care industry as big as it is, and with the easy and sometimes casual connection we as Americans have with the industry in one capacity or another. We posses a huge and powerful, positive, potential to create a lot more American jobs in this large and still-growing industry.

My suggestion, on behalf of American workers, American jobs, American prosperity, and Scrub/Ink, which has dedicated itself to employing only Americans, is that you ask those you know in the industry to they consider Scrub/Ink for their professional apparel needs. Both corporate and group discounts are available.

Scrub/Ink truly does offer a closer relationship between patient and caretaker with their American-made apparel, and that can only bode well for business and the country as a whole on not only a financial level, but on a psychological level as well.

Anything that makes the average American healthier makes the American economy and the country healthier (and wealthier) as well.
