Teddy Bears - American Style!
Our Buy American Mention of the Week!
by Roger Simmermaker
May 11, 2002

If you are like many patriotic consumers, the mere thought of buying a stuffed toy or animal is depressing since it is almost guaranteed to be made in China. But there is a way to get quality stuffed teddy bears that are hand-made right here in the USA. Go to http://www.vtbear.com for a wide assortment of specialty bears made for a variety of occasions.

Around since 1981, Vermont Teddy Bear still makes all their bears in the United States. In fact, the company's founder got the idea to make teddy bears here after becoming frustrated that all his son's bears were foreign made.

Vermont Teddy Bears cost a lot more than your usual cheap-import stuffed animals, but I'll bet that if we left all the Chinese made items on the store shelf that we often buy on impulse anyway, the money we would save over the year would be more than enough to buy at least one of these fine teddy bears and support American jobs.

When you place your order for your next gift-giving occasion, make sure you tell the company how happy you are they took the risk to make these bears in America. People that take risks such as these in the name of building a better America can use as much encouragement to keep fighting the good fight as we can give them.
