Sunglasses Looking for American-made sunglasses? I used to buy Oakleys, which continue to be made in California (for now, anyway). But Oakley was recently bought by Italian-owned Luxottica Group, who owns LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, and many other optical outlets. So I was happy to discover American-made Gatorz sunglasses through Fox Creek Leather. Gatorz sunglasses are machined from high grade aircraft aluminum in the USA. Sure, you can support American workers by buying either Oakleys or Gatorz. But wouldn’t you rather support American workers who work for a smaller American company rather than a larger Italian-owned conglomerate who has a near-monopoly on the American eyewear industry?
